Central Valley Coyotes News Release

FRESNO – The league office announced the af2's new two-conference, four-division format for the 2005 season today. The new format will place the Central Valley Coyotes in a re-aligned, five team Western Division.

The Coyote's division will keep the Bakersfield Blitz and San Diego Riptide while adding the Rio Grande Valley Dorados and Tulsa Talons, who were both members of the Southwest Division last season. The Hawaiian Islanders, who previously made up the fourth Western Division team, will not operate in 2005.

The newly aligned Western Division will stay a part of the National Conference along with the Midwest Division which will include the Amarillo Dusters, Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings, Memphis Xplorers, Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and the Quad City Steamwheelers.

The new American Conference will feature Eastern and Southern Divisions. The Albany Conquest, Green Bay Blizzard, Louisville Fire, Manchester Wolves and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will make up the East Division, while the South Division will consist of Arkansas Twisters, Birmingham Steeldogs, Florida Firecats, Macon Knights and South Georgia Wildcats.

The Central Valley Coyotes will begin their fourth season of play in March of 2005. Fifty dollar deposits for season tickets, which include eight games played at Selland Arena, are now being accepted at 559-498-1182.
