Albany, N.Y., November 10, 2004 â The arenafootball2 (af2) league office in Chicago announced today 2005 Division Alignment. The af2's 20 teams will play in a two-conference, four-division format for the 2005 season.
The Albany Conquest, entering their fourth season in the league, will compete in the five-team East Division of the American Conference, along with the Green Bay Blizzard, Louisville Fire, Manchester Wolves and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers.
A South Division will also comprise the American Conference and will consist of the Arkansas Twisters, Birmingham Steeldogs, Florida Firecats, Macon Knights and South Georgia Wildcats.
The National Conference will feature the Midwest and West Divisions. In the Midwest will be the Amarillo Dusters, Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings, Memphis Xplorers, Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and the Quad City Steamwheelers. The West Division will hold the Bakersfield Blitz, Central Valley Coyotes, Rio Grande Valley Dorados, San Diego Riptide and Tulsa Talons. The 2005 af2 schedule has not been announced, but will be released soon. The complete 2005 Division Alignment is listed below.
