Coyotes Recall Grant, Falcons Recall New

Springfield, MA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Alex Grant (on emergency basis) from the Springfield Falcons. In a separate transaction, the Falcons have recalled defenseman Daniel New from the Florida Everblades (ECHL).

The 27-year-old Grant has recorded 11-29-40 in 66 games with Springfield this season. The Antigonish, Nova Scotia native has scored two goals in two career NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks during the 2013-14 season.

Grant was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (118th overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft.

The 27-year-old New amassed one goal and one assist over two games this weekend with the Everblades. The native of White Plains, NY played in 14 games with the Falcons this season registering three assists and two penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-1 190 pound defenseman has totaled 113 career AHL games posting 6-29-35 and 63 PIM.

New was signed by the Falcons on September 25, 2015.
