Coyotes' Pitching Fails

SAN ANGELO, Texas- The Edinburg Coyotes could not stop the San Angelo Colts from scoring as they lost 21-8 Sunday night at Foster Field.

The Coyotes pitching staff could not stop the Colts offense allowing 21 runs on 21 hits. Through five and ½ innings of play the score was tied at 6-6. The Colts scored nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and then five in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Toro Trevino started the game for the Coyotes and got his second loss of the season after he allowed 9 runs on 11 hits in five innings of work. The rest of the bullpen could not stop the bleeding as they allowed eight runs in four innings of relief. Four of the 21 runs were unearned.

The offense for the Coyotes was not the problem as they scored eight runs on 14 hits. Eddie Wilson and Eric Gonzalez both went 3-for-5 on the night for the Coyotes' offense.

Taylor Fleming received his third win of the season (3-1) after he pitched an inning and 1/3 and allowed three runs on seven hits.

The Coyotes and Colts will finish the three game series on Monday night with the first pitch scheduled at 7:05 p.m. The Coyotes will head to Amarillo after Monday night's game to face the Dillas at the Dilla Villa for three games.
