Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

AMARILLO, Texas-The Edinubrg Coyotes lost their third game in a row after a 20-6 loss to the Amarillo Dillas Sunday night at Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. The loss for the Coyotes puts them another half game back of Laredo but that could be erased if Laredo loses Sunday night against the San Angelo Colts.

The Coyotes' (33-40) pitching staff struggled again after allowing 10 or more runs for the third straight game. Aaron Guerra (9-2) picked up the loss, only his second of the season, as he struggled to keep the Dillas off the bases.

The offense did not help as they only scored two runs through the first eight innings but they managed to score four runs in the top of the ninth inning but the game was already well out of hand.

The Colts (43-32) managed to score at least one run in the first five innings of the game and every hitter in the lineup got at least one hit.

Carlos Jan (1-3) will make the start in the finale of the three game series against the Dillas as he looks to make up for his last outing where he did not record an out in San Angelo.

The Coyotes and Dillas will wrap up the season series Monday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The Coyotes wrap up their 10 game in nine day road trip and open a three game series against the Alexandria Aces starting Tuesday night at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
