LAREDO, Texas-After an 8-game winning streak was snapped the night before, the Edinburg Coyotes lost 11-3 to the Laredo Broncos Thursday night at Veterans Field for their second straight loss. Aaron Guerra (9-3) was looking for his 10th win of the year but struggled with his command early on. Then Argelis Nunez hit a double to deep center field that allowed Jones to score for a 1-0 advantage. In the top of the second inning, Amado German extended the Coyotes lead with his sixth home run of the season. The solo blast for German was his third home run in two games. With a 2-0 lead, Robert Matlock walked. Then Angelo Fermin hit an RBI triple to right center field that scored Matlock from first which gave the Coyotes at 3-0 lead.

But the Broncos (39-48) answered in the bottom of the third inning when they sent 10 hitters to the plate. The Broncos scored five runs on six hits which gave them a 5-3 lead.

But the Broncos' offense was not done as they scored two more runs that extended their lead. Johnny Lopez started the bottom of the fifth inning with a single and then came in to score on an RBI double by Ben Tinius which made the score 7-3. Then Anthony Bennett hit an RBI single that scored Tinius which extended the Broncos lead to 8-3.

The Coyotes' defense did not help the pitching staff after an error in the bottom of the sixth inning by Fermin allowed two runs to score for the Broncos which extended their lead to 10-3. The Broncos added another run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Ponce hit an RBI single to center field that score Matt Imwalle from second which made the score 11-3.

The Coyotes will wrap up their season with a three game series against the San Angelo Colts starting Friday night at Foster Field with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Carlos Jan (2-3) will open up the series for the Coyotes as he will make his 10th start of the season.
