
Coyotes Lose It in the Ninth 3-2

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana- The Edinburg Coyotes lost to the Alexandria Aces 3-2 on Sunday night at Bringhurst Field after having the lead heading into the ninth inning.
Eric Montoya battled with Robbie Wooley through six innings of the ball game. Montoya did not factor in the loss after throwing six and 2/3 innings allowing one run on eight hits. Wooley matched Montoya only giving up one run but on four hits in six innings.
The Coyotes scored first as they finally got to Wooley in the top of the seventh inning. After a leadoff walk to Mayobanex Santana, Amado German bunted to move the runner over to second but the throw from third baseman Albert Gonzalez sailed over first base and into the bullpen which allowed Santana to score from first. With German at third, Logan Wood then hit an RBI double to right field to make the score 2-0.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Andre Marshall cut the Coyotes' lead in half with his second home run of the season. After two outs, Bryan Sabatella singled to left field to keep the inning alive. Montoya then walked the next two batters to load the bases but Bryan Heaston got Palmer Karr Jr. to pop up to shortstop Angelo Fermin to end the inning.
The Coyotes headed to the bottom of the ninth inning with a 2-1lead but Bryan Sabatella hit a home run (9) on the first pitch he saw from Julio Castro (1-2) to tie the game. Then with the bases loaded Castro walked Marshall to give the Aces a 3-2 victory.
The Coyotes and Aces will continue their series Monday night with the first pitch scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Miguel Martinez (4-3) will face Alexis Sosa (2-0) in game two of the three game series at Bringhurst Field.
