Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

HARLINGEN, TX-The Harlingen WhiteWings came into Wednesday's game looking for revenge from their loss on Tuesday night. The Wings got what they were looking for as the Wings only needed one inning to put this game away early against the Edinburg Coyotes.

The WhiteWings dominated early as they cruised to a 16-3 win over the Coyotes. The loss puts an end to the three game winning streak they had going into the game.

The first inning was the big inning for the WhiteWings as they scored seven runs on five hits. Ryan Fox got his first home run of the season on a grand slam in the first inning off of Edinburg Coyote starter Bric Steed. Steed served up another home run to Candelario Perez to push the run total to seven. The WhiteWings would send 10 hitters to the plate in that first inning. The WhiteWings (3-5) added two more runs in the second inning, six runs in the fifth and one run in the eighth.

WhiteWings starting pitcher Dan Valentin would keep the Coyotes (5-3) off the score board until the fifth inning when Jason Arrowood sent a pitch into the left field bullpen. Valentin went six innings to get his second win of the season and he struck out six. The Coyotes added two more runs in the sixth inning when Daryl Jones hit a deep homerun to left field for the final runs of the game for the Coyotes.

The Edinburg Coyotes and the Harlingen WhiteWings face off at 7:05 p.m. in the final game of the three game series on Thursday. The Coyotes will take on the Amarillo Dillas on Friday to start a three-game series.
