Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's series opening contest with the Birmingham Barons at Bragan Field.
Infielder Zack Cox has been reinstated from the Disabled List to Jacksonville's active roster. Cox had initially been placed on the Disabled List on May 2 due to a strained right hamstring. Prior to his injury, the 24-year-old accumulated a .328 average (20-61), adding five extra-base hits and five RBI, as well as a .438 on-base percentage in 19 games for the Suns.
The Suns roster now stands at 25, and a revised roster is attached.
Following Wednesday's off day, Jacksonville returns home to Bragan Field tonight to begin a five-game series with the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET at the Baseball Grounds.
