The Saginaw Spirit would like to congratulate forward Cody Bass and defenseman Mitch Maunu for being named the Covenant HealthCare Players of the Week.
Center Cody Bass notched a goal and 3 assists in three games this past weekend; he was plus-1. The Spirit recently picked up the Guelph, ON native in January via trade with the Mississauga Ice Dogs. In 8 games with the Spirit Bass has accumulated 2 goals and 7 assists. He has tallied 7 goals and 18 assists in 31 games this season. Bass is a 4th round pick, 95th overall, of the Ottawa Senators (2005).
D-man Mitch Maunu tallied 2 assists and was plus-5 last weekend. The Thunder Bay, ON native recently returned to the Spirit from the AHL and ECHL, notching 4 assists in 8 games. The Spirit traded for Maunu this past summer with the Windsor Spitfires.
