Milwaukee Mustangs News Release
MILWAUKEE (May 10, 2012) - Mustangs' games certainly haven't lacked excitement early in the season. Milwaukee (3-4) has been in three straight contests that were decided in the final seconds, including last week's thrilling 64-63 upset win at Philadelphia.
Another challenge and an opportunity lie ahead when fellow East Division foe Cleveland comes to the Bradley Center for a 7 p.m. start on Friday, May 11. The Gladiators are second in the division with a record of 4-3. Cleveland is coming off a bye week, but toppled Pittsburgh 58-43 on April 28.
Something's got to give when Milwaukee quarterback Gino Guidugli and the top-ranked AFL team in pass efficiency meets a solid Cleveland defense. The Gladiators have the best scoring defense in the league and allow just 47.4 points per game. A pass defense led by defensive backs Joe Phinisee and Levy Brown yields just 243.7 yards a game (second in the AFL). Cleveland's total defense also ranks second in the AFL at 262.1 yards per game.
The Gladiators are led by their defense, but the offense is no slouch either. Wide receiver Dominick Goodman is one of the best pass catchers in the league. Goodman has hauled in 79 receptions for 778 yards and 19 touchdowns. Quarterback John Dutton is an 11-year AFL veteran.
Milwaukee hopes to keep the momentum going against Cleveland. And on Friday, fans will be treated to both an exciting Arena Football League game, and a post-game concert by country music star Justin Moore. There will also be a pregame classic car show with the Early Mustangers Wisconsin just outside the northeast entrance of the arena before the doors open at 6 p.m.
Wristbands for field access for the concert can be purchased for $5 each at the Mustangs' information table behind section 203 in the concourse level during the game. All proceeds from the wristbands will benefit Variety the Children's Charity of Wisconsin.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. in the Bradley Center and will be featured on the NFL Network. Listen to the play-by-play on 540 ESPN and Espnwisconsin.com with announcer Bill Johnson. To purchase tickets, visit Ticketmaster.com, call 800-745-3000 or visit the Bradley Center box office.
