
Utah's Grady Voted Week 9 National Guard MVP

CHICAGO - Utah Blaze QB TOMMY GRADY has been named National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance in Week 9 of the 2012 AFL season, as voted on by fans.
In addition to being named Russell Offensive Player of the Week, Grady (6-7, 250, Utah) tied a League record with 11 touchdown passes in Utah's 84-63 victory over the Spokane Shock in Week 9. The number also represents a Blaze franchise record. Grady leads the League in passing touchdowns with 62 on the season.
Other candidates for the award included Chicago Rush QB Russ Michna and San Jose SaberCats QB Mark Grieb.
The Blaze (6-2) travel to the HP Pavilion on Friday night for a meeting the San Jose SaberCats (6-2). The winner will take the lead in the West Division and will also likely claim the top spot in the AFL Power Rankings and Coaches' Poll. The game can be seen on Ustream's AFL Live Viewer. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
