Countdown To Face-Off

Preparing to meet three times in their final four contests of the regular season, the Kalamazoo Wings will take on the Toledo Walleye at the Lucas County Arena. On the season, the K-Wings are 5-3-2-0 against the Walleye.

Winning last night in Cincinnati, Kalamazoo has increased their lead to four points in the North Division and in the process has taken over first place in the American Conference. The K-Wings lead the conference by one point and add to their lead today over the idle, South Carolina Stingrays.

With four games remaining in their regular season, the Walleye's magic number to clinch a playoff berth is five points. Currently in third place in the North Division, Toledo is in eighth place in the American Conference, one point behind Reading for seventh and three points ahead of 10th place Trenton.

One for the Road

Today will be the final regular season road game for the K-Wings. After this afternoon, Kalamazoo, who is 17-12-4-2 on the road, will return to Wings Stadium to finish the regular season on a three-game home stand.

The Mad Hatter

Forward Andrew Fournier, recorded his second hat trick of the season and the K-Wings fourth last night in Cincinnati. Fournier, who recorded five points (3 goals, 2 assists) yesterday, also tied a K-Wings season-high for points in a game.

A Perfect 10

Forward Sam Ftorek enters the Lucas County Arena on a 10-game point streak, which is one-game shy of the K-Wings season-high of 11 games held by Rick Cleaver (12/04/09-01/06/10). Besides the 10-game streak, Ftorek has scored goals in a K-Wings season-high five straight games.

Kalamazoo enters today looking to extend a five-game unbeaten streak. The K-Wings are 4-0-1-0 during their current streak.
