Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Starting a home and home series, the Kalamazoo Wings are heading to McMorran Place Arena to battle the Port Huron Icehawks. The K-Wings, who are 3-3-0-0 versus the Icehawks this season, will finish off the two-game set on Friday back at Wings Stadium.

After suffering back-to-back losses, the K-Wings will try to avoid tying a season-high three-game losing streak. Playing their first game of the month, Kalamazoo is hoping for fresh start in February after going 6-7-0-0 last month.

Winning two of their three games last week against Fort Wayne, Port Huron now holds a five-point lead over the Komets for first place in the IHL. With a record of 12-9-1-0 at home, four of the Icehawks' next six games will be at McMorran Place Arena.

Off to a Good Start

When the K-Wings are on the road and lead after the first period, they usually win. Kalamazoo is 6-1-0-0 entering the second period on foreign ice with a lead.

Familiar Foes

Over the next five games the K-Wings will only have to battle two opponents. Kalamazoo is commencing a home and home series tonight against Port Huron, which will conclude on Friday, and then Kalamazoo will gear up for three straight contests versus Bloomington begining this Saturday at Wings Stadium.

Closing in on the Century Mark

Defenseman Rod Aldoff is closing in on a personal milestone. Aldoff's next goal will be the 100th in his pro career.
