Kalamazoo Wings News Release
After two games at Wings Stadium, the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals will shift to the Perani Hockey World and Event Center for games three and four. The Kalamazoo Wings and Flint Generals enter game three tied a one game apiece.
Kalamazoo's defense was the story in game two, suffocating the Flint offense and allowing just 18 shots in the contest, including two shots in the final period. Ryan Mahrle jump started the K-Wings offense registering three points (1 goal, 2 assist), as well as the game-winning goal during the 5-0 victory.
Securing a split in the first two games of the series on Wednesday, Flint returns home ready to defend its home ice. The Generals were 16-17-5 at the Perani Hockey World & Event Center; however, they were just 1-4-0 during the season against the K-Wings.

With his goal last night forward Lucas Drake is now the K-Wings' UHL franchise leader in goals scored with 11. Drake's goal broke a three way tie between him, Nick Bootland and Jim Duhart (1999-00).
Shutting the Door
Goaltender Ryan Nie recorded his first pro playoff shutout last night in game two. The shutout was the fourth in K-Wings' UHL playoff history. Three of the four shutouts by the K-Wings have come at Wings Stadium.
