Record Breaking Night

Tonight will be a historic one for the Kalamazoo Wings. The K-Wings will surpass their UHL franchise record for attendance in a season. Kalamazoo will exceed the record set back in 2001-02, when 103,364 people watched hockey at Wings Stadium. Entering tonight, 101,401 people have watched the K-Wings this season at home. After tonight's game, the K-Wings still have four more home games in the regular season.

The Great Wall

Goaltender Chad Alban recorded his second shutout of the season last night against the Port Huron Beacons. Alban's shutout was his 11th as a member of the K-Wings and his 16th as a professional. In fact, 11 of the K-Wings UHL shutouts have been achieved by Alban.

Source of Energy

Defenseman Daniel Carriere has been a source of energy for the K-Wings power-play. Carriere, who had a power-play goal last night, now has accumulated 25 of his 39 points from the power-play.

Getting Their Shots In

The Kalamazoo Wings are third in the United Hockey League in shots averaging 32.9 a game. The K-Wings have also been stingy in allowing opponents to get shots on goal, as the K-Wings are second in the UHL in shots allowed, allowing a miniscule average of 27.1 a game.
