Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Tonight's Game

After going winless in their last two games, the K-Wings will be looking to end that streak against the top team in the UHL. Kalamazoo is 1-3-1 against their intra-state rivals; however, their lone victory this season against the Fury was at the L.C. Walker Arena.

Despite going 0-1-1 in their last two games, the K-Wings are playing their best hockey of the season. Kalamazoo is 4-2-4 in their last 10 games. A good reason for Kalamazoo's recent success has been the play of both Andrew Luciuk and Marty Flichel. Both Luciuk and Flichel will carry in a K-Wings season high 9 game point streak into tonight's game.

Muskegon enters the game playing the best hockey of any team in the UHL. The Fury are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games, and are on a two game winning streak, thanks to their 3-1 victory last night versus Missouri. Robin Bouchard has been the most prolific scorer in the league this year, as his 57 points (29 goals, 28 assists) leads the UHL. The scoring brilliances of the Fury is not only limited to their veterans. Muskegon's David Noel-Bernier leads all rookies in scoring with 31 points.

Extended to Nine

With points in last night K-Wings game against Rockford, Flichel and Luciuk have also extended their point streak to 9 games. The 9 game streak is the longest by any K-Wings player this season. Flichel also carries in an 8 game assist streak into night's game, which ties him with Luciuk for the K-Wings season high. Luciuk 8 game assists streak ended last night.

Not Your Average Joe

Newly acquired K-Wings forward Joe Ritson made his presence felt last night. In his first game with the K-Wings Ritson scored a power play goal. Ritson joined the K-Wings last night, after being traded from Missouri earlier in the day.
