Prince George Cougars News Release
Prince George, BC- On Saturday, January 28th the Prince George Cougars and United Way of Northern BC have teamed up to host Heroes Night as the Cougars take on the Everett Silvertips. United Way of Northern BC will celebrate their Annual Campaign Wrap-Up with a reception for their volunteers and supporters prior to the game. A silent auction will be held on the concourse in Section X with proceeds supporting United Way.
In addition, the Cougars have invited members of forty military families in Prince George to the game- some of whom currently have loved ones deployed in Afghanistan. 158 Canadian flags, each of which identifies the name of a fallen Canadian soldier in Afghanistan, will be displayed on the concourse for the evening. Involvement from the Canadian Cadets Organization in Prince George will make the flag display possible.
Local organizations including the Royal Canadian Legion, RCMP and Prince George Fire Rescue will be in attendance and will receive recognition on the red carpet prior to the game.
Fans are encouraged to dress up as their hero for the game. Group tickets (for groups of 15+) are available by contacting Shannon or Amy at the Prince George Cougars office at 250-561-0873.
