
Cougars Secure Fifth Consecutive Victory With Thrilling Comeback Win

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- In a thrilling game that saw a remarkable third-period surge, the Prince George Cougars clawed their way back from behind to defeat the Wenatchee Wild 6-4. The victory extends their winning streak to five games and solidifies their position at the top of the WHL standings with a record of 6-1-0-0.
The Cougars' offence was firing on all cylinders, with Zac Funk leading the charge and racking up an impressive five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in the memorable win. Terik Parascak continued to shine, adding two goals to his season tally, now at an impressive 12.
The opening period saw the Wild's Briley Wood break the ice at 16:21, capitalizing on a pass from Dawson Seitz to beat Josh Ravensbergen. Despite being outshot 11-9 in the period, the Wild maintained their lead.
In the second period, Terik Parascak, the WHL's leading scorer, brought the Cougars level with a power-play goal at 5:51. Shortly after, the Cats demonstrated their prowess on the power-play again, with Koehn Ziemmer and Riley Heidt setting up Zac Funk to take a 2-1 lead at 12:53. The Wild's Connor Geekie swiftly responded, tying the game just 58 seconds later. Kenta Isogai's superb shot at 18:46 put the Wild back in front with a 4-3 lead at the end of the period.
The third period was all about the Cougars as they applied relentless pressure. Terik Parascak scored his second of the night at 8:13, levelling the score at 4-4. The excitement continued as Ondrej Becher unleashed a one-timer from Zac Funk two minutes later, propelling the Cougars to a 5-4 lead and igniting the CN Centre crowd. Viliam Kmec extended the lead to 5-3 with a snipe at 13:51. Although Kenta Isogai pulled one back for Wenatchee at 16:55, Zac Funk sealed the deal with an empty-netter at 19:10, securing his second goal of the night and sealing the Cougars' 6-4 come-from-behind victory.
