Cougars Partner with Stanley Tools for August 22 Game

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars are partnering with Stanley Tools for the Friday, August 22 game as part of "Stanley Build Your America Night". The Build Your America ceremonies will feature Stanley employees, customers and their families who will help display a large America-shaped United States flag during the National Anthem. Also that evening, the first 1,500 fans will receive a Cougars baseball cap, courtesy of Stanley Black & Decker. During each inning, one lucky fan will receive a Stanley Heritage prize package. That evening's game and "Back to School" theme night also includes a post-game fireworks show and all fans are invited to run the bases afterwards. First pitch that evening is set for 6:30 p.m. as the Cougars welcome the Clinton LumberKings to Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

Continuing its commitment to make the tools that build America, the Stanley Black & Decker 2014 Build Your America Contest will award one charitable organization, non-profit organization or local government agency $10,000 towards a project such as neighborhood revitalization, historical landmark renovations, or school, park and recreation center improvements. Stanley Tools created the contest to help people honor their hometown communities while showcasing its hand tools made in the USA with global materials.

To enter the contest, go to www.STANLEYTools.com/BuildYourAmerica and submit a brief essay of your proposed project on how you would like to honor your community with the $10,000 grand prize such as by improving a park, building, or other location. You can enter the Contest with a smart phone via a QR code at select retail locations where Stanley hand tools are sold. Look for the specially marked Stanley Tools packages with the "Made in the USA with Global Materials" logo or specially marked Point-Of-Sale materials with the Stanley Tools Build Your America logo. The contest will run through December 31, 2014.

PLAYOFF TICKETS ON SALE NOW - Fans can purchase tickets for the Cougars' first home playoff game, to be held at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark on Thursday, September 4 at 6 p.m. That evening's game will be Game 2 of a best-of-three series in the Midwest League Playoff's opening round. The Cougars will play the Western Division second half wild card winner, which will be determined later this season.

Through August 23, the Cougars are offering a playoff special as a reserved seat ticket, along with a hot dog for the September 4 playoff game, is just $5. The September 4 game is also a Thirsty Thursday, sponsored by Miller Lite, and will feature $1 select beers, sodas and hot dogs.
