June 13, 2013 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Burlington Bees News Release

Taylor Scott delivered 7.2 innings of one-run ball, as the Kane County Cougars defeated the Burlington Bees 4-1 on Thursday night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

In a rematch of two all-star pitchers, Taylor Scott (4-2) got the better of Alex Keudell (4-3) for the second time in a week. Keudell lasted a season-low five innings for the Bees (24-37), giving up two runs, while Scott gave the Cougars (29-34) 7.2 excellent innings.

Albert Almora led the Cougars on Thursday night, going 3-for-4 at the plate and falling a home run shy of the cycle. Almora tripled home a run in the third, singled home a run in the fifth and doubled home a run in the seventh. Keudell allowed one run in the third and one in the fifth, but in the fourth he was forced to throw nearly 30 pitches, which made his pitch count skyrocket.

Scott held the Bees scoreless until the fourth when Sherman Johnson drew a leadoff walk and scored on a double by Wade Hinkle. Burlington did not threaten again until the eighth, when it put runners at the corners with two outs against Stephen Perakslis; however, Perakslis got Hinkle to ground out to end the inning.

Perakslis pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his second save of the year.

Burlington will now head to Quad Cities to face the River Bandits for four games in three days. Friday's game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
