PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars have called up forward Craig Armstrong ('03), the team announced Tuesday.

Armstrong, 15, was the Cougars' first pick, 9th overall, in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The Airdrie, Alberta, product is playing for the Edge School Mountaineers at the Midget Prep level, in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Armstrong is averaging a point per-game this season, compiling 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 23 games.

Last season, Armstrong played for the Airdrie Xtreme in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL). He was the top scorer for the Xtreme in the regular season, tallying 23 goals and 31 assists for 54 points in 34 games. He led the AMBHL in playoff scoring as well, with 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points in 13 games. Armstrong guided the Xtreme to the 2017-18 AMBHL championship.

Armstrong's call up coming after forward Ilijah Colina ('00) sustained an upper-body injury Sunday in Kamloops. Colina is listed as week-to-week.
