Cougars 2005 home schedule set

Geneva, IL – Marking their 15th season of Midwest League play, the Kane County Cougars announced today the official 2005 game schedule. Commencing another two-year term with the Oakland Athletics, the Cougars begin the 2005 season on Thursday, April 8 with a road trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, facing the Kernels in a four-game stint. Following a team off-day on Monday, April 11, the Western Division Champions take the field at Elfstrom Stadium for the home opener on Tuesday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m., starting a three-game series against the Beloit Snappers, the new class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

Getting an early start to the Summer, the Cougars will present the first of thirty-one fireworks shows during the 2005 season on Saturday, May 14. Fan favorites, the ZOOperstars, BirdZerk, Myron Noodleman, Jake the Diamond Dog, the Jesse White Tumblers and skydivers are all scheduled to make appearances throughout the summer. Additionally, the Cougars Ladies' Day, Buffett Night and Military Appreciation Night are among the variety of theme nights making a return to the ballpark in 2005.

Individual ticket prices have remained unchanged for the 2005 season and are available to fans at $10 for Field Box Seats, $9 for Box Seats, $8 for Reserved Seats and $7 for Lawn Seats. Individual tickets go on sale Saturday, November 20 at 9:00 a.m. At that time, tickets can be purchased in person at the Elfstrom Stadium ticket windows located next to Gate #3. The Cougars will be serving refreshments, including coffee and juice along with a breakfast buffet for fans beginning at 8:00 a.m. Those looking to avoid long lines on Saturday morning can pre-order tickets now at the Cougars website, www.kccougars.com. Internet purchases made on or before that date will be processed beginning Monday, November 22 at 9:00 a.m. in the order they are received. Also, on Monday, the Cougars will begin accepting phone (630/232-8811), mail (34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva, 60134) and fax (630/232-8815) ticket orders.
