COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Cottonmouths went 1-2-0 over the past week as they split a two-game homestand with a loss Friday night to Huntsville and a win Saturday night over Pensacola. On Sunday evening, the Snakes dropped a road decision to league-leading Mississippi in Biloxi. Columbus again will play three games in three nights this week with home contests against Knoxville on Thursday and Louisiana on Friday before heading to Louisiana for the back end of the home-and-home against the IceGators on Saturday night in Lafayette. The Snakes can clinch a playoff spot with two wins or two Louisiana regulation losses in the remainder of the season OR by defeating Louisiana on Friday or Saturday night in regulation. All three games will be broadcast on B2 Networks with both a video and audio feed, with a nominal fee for each game. A free audio-only webcast of the games is also available. UPCOMING GAMES AND PROMOTIONS Thursday, March 18 - Knoxville at Columbus, 7:30 PM EDT (Season Series vs. KNX: 5-2-2) The Cottonmouths and Knoxville Ice Bears meet for the final time in the regular season on Thursday night at the Snake Pit. Knoxville currently sits in fourth place in the SPHL standings; were the season to end today, they would face Fayetteville in a best-of-three series, with the FireAntz having the home-ice advantage. Friday, March 19 - Louisiana at Columbus, 7:30 PM EDT (Season Series vs. LOU: 2-2-1) The Snakes face the Louisiana IceGators on Friday night at the Snake Pit. A regulation win by the Cottonmouths in either this game or Saturday night's game in Lafayette will clinch a playoff berth for the Snakes and eliminate Louisiana from postseason contention. The ‘Gators are a long shot to make the playoffs; the Cottonmouths would have to win only once more in their remaining six games and Louisiana would have to win out for the IceGators to make the postseason and Columbus to be the team without a chair when the regular season music stops. Saturday, March 20 - Columbus at Louisiana, 8:05 PM EDT The Louisiana IceGators close out their home schedule at Blackham Coliseum on Saturday night with a game against the Cottonmouths. Columbus is 1-1-1 in three visits to Lafayette so far this season.

The third and final set of player cards will be distributed at Hollywood Connection Sunday, March 21 from 1-3 p.m. All Snakes will be on hand for autographs.

COTTONMOUTHS WEEK IN REVIEW Friday, March 12 - Huntsville 3 at Columbus 1 (Attendance: 2,693) The Snakes fell to the Huntsville Havoc 3-1 last night at the Snake Pit. It was the Cottonmouths' first regulation loss in their past seven games. Brent Clarke scored the lone goal for Columbus, with Orrin Hergott and Craig Stahl logging assists. Ian Vigier picked up the loss in net for the Snakes, stopping 28 of the 31 shots he faced. Dan McWhinney was the winning goaltender for Huntsville as he made 36 saves on 37 shots. Huntsville was 1 for 5 on the power play while Columbus was 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

Saturday, March 13 - Pensacola 6 at Columbus 9 (Attendance: 3,179) Jesse Cole's hat trick paced the Snakes on Saturday night en route to a 9-6 win over Pensacola. Tim Green and Orrin Hergott scored two goals apiece while Levi Lind and Tom McMonagle added a goal each. Chad Rycroft took the win in net for Columbus with 34 saves on 40 shots while Jamie Gilbert stopped 26 of 34 in the losing effort for the Ice Flyers. Columbus was 1 for 4 on the power play while Pensacola was 2 for 6.

Sunday, March 14 - Columbus 2 at Mississippi 4 (Attendance: 1,866) For the second straight night, the Cottonmouths were involved in a game where a player scored a hat trick; unfortunately, it was Mississippi's Tom Boudreau who scored the three goals in a 4-2 win for the Surge. Jesse Cole continued his hot streak from the night before, scoring a pair of goals. Ian Vigier stopped 47 of 50 shots on goal for Columbus despite being saddled with the loss, while Bill Zaniboni picked up the win in net for the Surge with 21 saves on 23 shots. Columbus was 0 for 6 on the power play while Mississippi was 2 for 9.

THREE STARS OF THE WEEK 1. F Jesse Cole - Cole's five goals and an assist on the week led all scorers, including a hat trick on Saturday night.

2. F Tim Green - Green scored a pair of goals on Saturday and logged an assist Sunday.

3. D Kyle Lundale - Lundale logged four assists in Saturday's win over Pensacola.
