Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc went 3-0 on the weekend after a 7-1 win over Fayetteville on Thursday at home and grabbing two wins on the road in Columbus and Louisiana.
Thursday, March 11, Fayetteville 1, Huntsville 7
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Adam Lukacovic scored 2:22 into the game and the rout was on as the Huntsville Havoc hammered the Fayetteville Fire Antz 7-1 Thursday night.
Dean Petiot scored with at the 3:53 mark and Jeff Winchester scored with 7:37 left in the first period and the Havoc had a 3-0 lead after one period of play.
Brett McConnachie scored with 16:58 left in the second to cut the lead to 3-1 before Ray Ortiz answered for the Havoc with 11:56 to go to push the lead back to three goals.
Travis Kauffeldt scored twice and Chris Myers scored once in the third period to finish off the scoring.
Mike MacDonald had three assists for the Havoc while B.J. Radovich and Martin Kubaliak recorded two each.
Dan McWhinney made 32 saves in the win. Guy St. Vincent started and played one period for Fayetteville. He took the loss and allowed three goals and made 10 saves. Bryan Bridges relieved him after one period and allowed four goals and made 18 saves.
Friday, March 12 - Huntsville 3, Columbus 1
COLUMBUS, GA- Dan McWhinney stopped 36 of 37 shots he faced as the Huntsville Havoc went on the road and scored a 3-1 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths.
Justin Rohr put the Havoc on the board with 2:02 in the first period when he found the back of the net. Brett Liscomd and Travis Kauffeldt had the assists.
The Havoc extended the lead to 2-0 in the second period when Andrew Schembri scored his first goal of the season for the Havoc on the powerplay. Mike Carter and Chris Myers had the assists.
Columbus would cut the lead to 2-1 on a Brent Clarke goal late in the second and the Havoc had a 2-1 lead after two periods of play.
Mike MacDonald finished the scoring early in the third period.
Saturday, March 13 - Huntsville 3, Louisiana 2
LAFAYETTE, LA - B.J. Radovich broke a 2-2 tie with 17:46 left in the game to give the Huntsville Havoc a 3-2 win over the Louisiana Ice Gators Saturday night.
Louisiana jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period on goal by Josh Bonar and Daryl Moore.
Travis Kauffeldt and Justin Rohr would both score second period goals to tie the game at 2-2.
Mark Sibbald started and made two saves and allowed both goals. He was replaced by Dan McWhinney who got the win and saved all 14 shots he faced.
