The Cottonmouths return to the Snake Pit as they open up SPHL regular-season action on Friday night against the Knoxville Ice Bears. The weekend only heats up from there as the Macon Trax visit the Civic Center again for a game that counts on Saturday night. The puck drops for both games on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM EDT.

UPCOMING GAMES AND PROMOTIONS

Friday, October 29 – Knoxville at Columbus, 7:30 PM EDT

The Cottonmouths open up SPHL play with a date at the Columbus Civic Center against the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday night. Friday night is TIC Federal Credit Union Magnetic Schedule Night, as the first 5,000 fans in attendance receive a free Cottonmouths magnetic schedule. Two familiar faces to Cottonmouths fans grace the Ice Bears' roster: forward Todd MacIsaac, who played with the Macon Whoopee in the Central Hockey League against the Snakes; and goaltender James Ronayne, who faced Columbus as a member of Tulsa in the CHL. The Ice Bears begin play this season looking to avenge their SEHL playoff finals defeat at the hands of Huntsville last season.

Saturday, October 30 – Macon at Columbus, 7:30 PM EDT

The rivalry is renewed as Macon and Columbus hit the ice as opponents for the first time since March 30, 2002 as members of the East Coast Hockey League. Former Cottonmouth Tommy Stewart is the bench boss for the Trax this season as they also were league runners-up last season, losing in the WHA2 finals to the Jacksonville Barracudas. Former longtime Cottonmouth Tom Wilson will don a Macon jersey this season as a member of the Trax after a season last year with the now-defunct Alabama Slammers. It's also Burger King Cheer Stix Night, as the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a pair of Cheer Stix courtesy of Burger King to help make noise and derail the Trax.
