CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Jan. 28, 2026) - Corpus Christi FC has signed Argentinian defender Tomas Ritondale ahead of the Sharks first professional season in 2026, pending league and federation approval.

"I made the decision to come to CCFC because I think it's a good team, a new opportunity to show that CCFC is capable of great things and to take it as far as possible," Ritondale said. "I also think it's a beautiful city with great people who support the team every day."

Tomas' first taste of professional soccer came in the 2022 U.S. Open Cup for Miami United FC. It wasn't long after, he signed with USL Championship side Rio Grande Valley FC Toros.

His ability to be dangerous from an outside back position afforded him his next opportunity in MLS NEXT Pro with Huntsville City FC. Thomas spent one season gaining valuable experience in Huntsville.

Most recently, Thomas joined FC Naples midway through the 2025 season where he contributed to the team's deep playoff run to the semifinals.

"Someone else's loss is our gain here at Corpus Christi," Head Coach Éamon Zayed said. The most dangerous type of player is a player with a point to prove. Tomas is a young player who comes with experience in USL Championship, MLS NEXT Pro and USL League One. He is a very technical left-footed player who is hungry and ambitious to achieve his goals. Wilmer Cabrera was the coach who was able to get some of his best football as a left fullback to date, at RGV. I want to bring out the best version of Tomas and help him develop into one of the best left backs in USL."

Cordoba, Argentina is home for Thomas, but he was born in Miami.
