CornBelters Add Jess Amedee

Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters have added right-handed pitcher, Jess Amedee, to their roster. Normal also placed Mark Hendricks on the 60-day DL, while Kuehl McEachern was put on the retired list.

Amedee was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2014 and played five seasons in the Pirates organization before joining the Belters. In the Pirates organization, Amedee held an 11-8 record with a 4.16 ERA along with 216 strikeouts and 171 innings pitched. He made it all the way to the Bradenton Marauders, the Pirates advanced-A team, where he had a 6-6 record with a 3.80 ERA and 83 strikeouts.

Prior to the Pirates organization, Amedee played at the University of Texas - North Arlington and Central Arizona Community College. During his college career, he spent time with the Mankato Moondogs of the Northwoods League where he threw held a 2-1 record with 48 strikeouts. At North Arlington, Amedee pitched 48.1 innings with 46 strikeouts.

The CornBelters play game two of a three-game series against the Gateway Grizzlies tonight with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
