(Beloit-WI)- Harrison Cooney tossed six shutout innings as the Burlington Bees defeated the Beloit Snappers, 2-0 in the series finale on Thursday night, at Pohlman Field.

Starting pitchers, Harrison Cooney and Dylan Covey, traded scoreless innings for the first four innings of the game.

Eric Aguilera led off the fifth by reaching on a fielding error by second baseman Luis Baez. After an Eric Aguilera stolen base, Trevor Gretzky doubled to left, scoring Aguilera, putting the Bees on top 1-0.

Bees' starter Harrison Cooney got into a jam in the sixth inning with runners at first and second, but struck out Tyler Marincov, stranding a pair.

Stephen McGee gave the Bees an insurance run in the ninth with a single to left, scoring Eric Aguilera, extending the Bees' lead to 2-0.

The Bees' bullpen helped preserve the lead, working three scoreless innings as the Bees hung on for the 2-0 win, finishing a six game road trip 3-3.

Bees' starter Harrison Cooney (7-4) worked six scoreless innings in route to the win. The loss was charged to Snappers' starter Dylan Covey (4-7) and Ben Carlson (8) picked up the save for the Bees.

The Burlington Bees (49-40) return home Friday night to start a four game series with the Peoria Chiefs (50-39) at 6:30 PM. Yency Almonte makes the start for the Bees, against Blake McKnight for Peoria.
