(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - A bloop single to left field off the bat of Aquasox CF Mike Faulkner scored PR Janelfry Zorrilla in the top of the 9th inning helping Everett top Vancouver 4-3 on Monday night in front of 4,909 sun soaked fans out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Canadians LHP Kyle Anderson went four innings in his first start of the season with his only blemish on the night being a solo home run off the bat of Everett 1B Taylor Ard while striking out three and scattering just a pair of hits.
With Vancouver leading 3-2 in the top of the 7th inning, Canadians RHP Ian Kadish would give up a double to Aquasox SS Ketel Marte who advanced to third base on an infield single off the bat of CF Jamodrick McGruder before scoring on a balk charged to Kadish that tied the game at 3-3. Minutes later, Canadians manager Clayton McCullough was ejected by the home plate umpire after disputing the call.
The Aquasox would complete the Monday night comeback in the top of the 9th inning when C Marcus Littlewood drew a walk off of RHP Ian Kadish, advanced out to second base on a wild pitch, moved over to third base on a ground out from SS Ketel Marte and then scored on a softly hit single off the bat of CF Mike Faulkner.
Vancouver rallied in the bottom of the 9th inning putting both LF Matt Newman and 2B Derrick Chung on with walks issued by Everett reliever RHP Brandon Plotz, but PH Balbino Fuenmayor would fly out to deep left field to give the Aquasox the 4-3 win.
With the loss, Vancouver falls to 14-10 (.583) on the season and drop 3 1/2 games back of Everett in the West as the Aquasox improve to 18-7 (.720). The Canadians have 13 games remaining in the first half of the Northwest League schedule.
