Conquest to hold free agent tryout on Sunday at the Sportsplex of Halfmoon

Albany, N.Y., March 8, 2005 – The Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 will hold a free-agent tryout on Sunday, March 13 at the Sportsplex of Halfmoon located at 6 Corporate Drive in Clifton Park, N.Y. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the tryout beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until 2 p.m. This is the only open player free-agent tryout for the 2005 Conquest team, which plays its home opener on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Pepsi Arena against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers.

A $60 non-refundable registration fee should be paid at registration on the day of the tryout in the form of cash only. The fee includes a 2005 Conquest free-agent tryout t-shirt. Those participating will be evaluated by the Albany Conquest coaching staff, including Coach Davis, and will be tested in combine-type drills that include 40-yard dash, short shuttle, bench press, agility drills, and one-on-one route running for quarterbacks, wide receivers, and defensive backs. Participants should arrive dressed in work out attire, including turf shoes or sneakers.

"As an arena football coach I have conducted numerous tryouts and I am often impressed with the amount of talent these players' possess," said Albany Conquest Head Coach Richard Davis. "There always seems to be some guys that slip under the radar screen of pro scouts."
