Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed goaltender Sean Connors and defenseman Jason Goulet, Blazers head coach Doug Sauter announced today.

Connors, a 6-1, 170-pound native of Okotoks, Alberta, will be entering his third full season as a pro. Last season with Oklahoma City, he posted an 18-10-7 record, 2.74 goals against average and .915 saves percentage. During the Blazers 17-5-4 run over the final 26 games of the season, Connors posted a 13-4-3 record, 2.60 goals against average and .922 saves percentage.

"We had a great second half of the season, but came up a bit short," said Connors. "With the guys that are planning on coming back to the Blazers, I think we can pick up where we left off at the end of last season and make a good run at it."

Goulet joined the Blazers in late November. The 6-5, 245-pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba skated in 44 games, registering eight points (2-6-8) and serving 133 penalty minutes. His 19 major penalties was tops on the Blazers roster and tops amongst defensemen in the CHL. Goulet received the Most Improved Player award as voted on by Blazers fans and his teammates.

"I'm excited and ready to go for next season," said Goulet. "I've been treated well in my stay in Oklahoma City. It was an easy decision for me to return here. I wish the season started tomorrow."

"Connors returns to our roster following an MVP-type performance in the second half of last season for our club," said Sauter. "He really came into his own while serving as the go to guy in net for our team. Goulet is one of the most physical defenseman in the league. He came to our club and really improved his skills. His first year reminded me of Wade Brookbank's first year as a Blazer. He came to our club and made a good first impression. Now I look for him to use his size and strength to his advantage this season and improve as a hockey player."

The addition of Connors and Goulet bring the number of players signed for the 05-06 season to three. They join captain Tyler Fleck on the Blazers roster.
