Uncasville, CT - The Connecticut Sun has signed forward Kristine Anigwe to a seven-day contract, the team announced today. The Sun qualified for the emergency salary cap hardship provision due to having only nine players available ahead of tonight's matchup against the Wings.
Anigwe returns to Connecticut after signing a seven-day contract with the team on July 17. She appeared in three games for the Sun before being released. The 6-4 forward was originally drafted ninth overall in the 2019 draft by the Sun out of the University of California. She played her rookie season in Connecticut, before being traded to Los Angeles in 2020. Throughout her career, Anigwe has made appearances for the Sparks, as well as the Dallas Wings in 2021 and the Phoenix Mercury in 2022. She also signed a training camp contract with the Chicago Sky prior the 2023 season, appearing in 10 contests, tallying 25 points, 21 rebounds, four assists, three steals and five blocks over 82 minutes played.
