UNCASVILLE, Conn. (August 15, 2012) - The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed veteran center Jessica Moore to a seven-day contract.

To make room on the roster, the Sun waived rookie center Chay Shegog.

Moore appeared in 29 games for the Sun in 2011, collecting 48 points and 23 rebounds in limited minutes off the bench. She was not re-signed in 2012 because she was not physically ready to play at the start of the season. Moore eventually signed with Atlanta, but was recently waived by the Dream.

Selected with the 21st overall pick (second round) of the 2012 WNBA Draft, the 6-foot-5 Shegog appeared in three games, playing a total of eight minutes for the Sun this season.

Currently tied for the best record in the WNBA at 15-4, the Sun resume their season Thursday in New Jersey against the New York Liberty. Connecticut returns home for the first of seven remaining regular season games on Saturday, hosting the Liberty at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
