
Connecticut Finalizes 2021 Training Camp Roster

Connecticut Sun Head Coach and General Manager Curt Miller today finalized the 2021 Sun training camp roster. The team will gear up for training camp on Sunday, April 25 in Uncasville, CT at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Connecticut will head into camp with a 22-player roster, but due to overseas commitments, Jonquel Jones, Briann January and Jasmine Thomas will arrive late. Among the Sun returners, Jonquel Jones, Briann January, Jasmine Thomas, will all arrive late due to commitments overseas. Other returners from the 2020 roster that will compete in training camp include DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, Natisha Hiedeman, Kaila Charles and Beatrice Mompremier, though Bonner, Jones and Mompremier will arrive late. Seven-year veteran, Alyssa Thomas will be present at camp, but will be out for the 2021 season after suffering an injury competing overseas.
The Sun's three draftees, DiJonai Carrington (No. 20), Micaela Kelly (No. 21) and Aleah Goodman (No. 30) will also be in attendance. Additionally, 10 other players received an invite to training camp. Tanaya Atkinson, Morgan Bertsch, Feyonda Fitzgerald, Brianna Fraser, Kai James, Stephanie Jones, Teana Muldrow, Vionise Pierre-Louis, and Kamiah Smalls will compete for a spot on the Connecticut Sun's 2021 roster. Fraser and Smalls will also arrive late to camp.
By no later than 5pm ET on May 13, the Sun will announce their opening day roster. The WNBA pre-season begins on May 1 and will conclude May 11. Between this time Connecticut will compete in two pre-season games - one home and one away. On May 3, New York comes to town for a closed scrimmage and on May 8, the team will travel to Dallas.

Connecticut will tip-off the 2021 season on Friday, May 14 against the Atlanta Dream. The Sun will return home on Sunday, May 16 for a game against the Phoenix Mercury at 7pm. This will mark the team's first time on the Mohegan hardwood since Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against the Washington Mystics on October 8, 2019.
