Conley Added to USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game Roster

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Today, the United States Hockey League (USHL) announced that forward Kevin Conley has been added to the roster for the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, Tuesday, January 13th at the Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque, IA, home of the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Conley joins forwards Kyle Connor and Chase Pearson, defenseman Kris Myllari, and goaltender Chris Birdsall as the Youngstown Phantoms' representatives in the exhibition.

The game will feature 40 of the top players in the USHL who are eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft. The selection process for players competing in the game was completed in cooperation with USHL general managers, NHL scouts and team personnel, and NHL Central Scouting.

Currently skating in his first full USHL season, Conley has totaled four goals and two assists through 28 games played this season. His first-career USHL goal was the game-winner in a 5-2 win over Team USA's Under-17 squad back on October 3rd. Committed to the University of Denver, Conley was a "C" rated prospect on NHL Central Scouting's November Rankings. Players with a "C" rating are candidates for the fourth through seventh rounds of the NHL Draft.

The Phantoms' five participants in the Top Prospects Game are second-most in the USHL. Cedar Rapids leads the way with seven players. This is the third time that the Phantoms have sent players to the Top Prospects Game. In 2012, Austin Cangelosi was selected to participate in the exhibition. He was selected again in 2013 along with Washington Capitals prospect, Nathan Walker, but he did not play in the game.
