Bakersfield Condors News Release

The Condors came out tentative in the first game of the Southern Division Semifinals, and paid for it by falling behind 2-0 inside the first five minutes. They battled back, however, with a first period power play goal by Ryan Foster to leave the score 2-1 after one period. Scott Hay stopped 15 first period shots. Jeff Goldie tied the game up midway through the second frame to breathe life into the Condors attack. The revival was short lived, as San Diego scored twice in the following three minutes to gain back the lead for good. They added an early third period goal for good measure, and handed the Condors a 5-2 loss in game one. Hay took the loss, stopping 36 shots.

Condors Downed Again in Game Two

With more energy early in Game Two, the results didn't improve, as the Condors allowed two first period tallies to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes. The Condors pounded the San Diego net with 17 first period shots, but Trevor Koenig was perfect between the pipes for the Gulls. Paul Rosebush blasted home a one-timer early in the second period to put the Condors on the board, but again the Gulls would answer almost immediately. Jamie Black scored on a disputed goal, which the Condors argued for goaltender interference, but the protest was ignored and Bakersfield trailed 3-1 after two periods. San Diego scored twice in the third period, including a goal inside the first minute of the final stanza. Luciano Caravaggio took the loss for Bakersfield in game two.
