Condors roll over Reign, 7-3

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors (26-23-2-1, 55pts) scored four times in the third period to turn a close game against the Ontario Reign (18-30-2-3, 41pts) into a 7-3 rout in front of 6,056 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.

RW Pascal Morency put Bakersfield up 1-0 halfway through the first period. D Jay Cascalenda wrapped a puck to LW Brad Snetsinger on the right side of the net. Snetsigner's shot rebounded off G Beau Erickson, and Morency pounded home the rebound. The Condors led 1-0 at the first intermission, and G Brian Stewart stopped all eight shots he faced in the first.

Ontario came out firing in the second period, and knocked home two quick tallies to take a 2-1 lead. D Luke Beaverson and C Jordan Morrison scored just 18 seconds apart in the opening minutes of the frame . But the Condors responded. Morency scored his second of the night at 10:16 to tie it up, and RW Stephane Goulet scored on the power play at 16:22 to give the Condors a 3-2 advantage.

Bakersfield rattled off four tallies in the third frame to pull away. LW Guillaume Lefebvre scored his first of two in the period just 2:07 in to make it 4-2. Then C Slava Trukhno and Lefebvre scored just 45 seconds apart midway through the period to make it 6-2. C Joel Broda broke from the penalty box and scored on a breakaway at 17:41 for the Condors seventh of the night. The Reign added a final minute marker to account for the final tally. Bakersfield finished with a 53-30 shot advantage on the night.
