Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club today announced the signing of defenseman Reagan Leslie and goaltender Jamie Hodson for the 2006-07 season.
Leslie returns for his second season with the Condors. In his rookie year in Bakersfield, the 23- year-old posted three goals, 20 assists and 71 penalty minutes in 55 games.
"Reagan brings lot of speed and grit to the team," said Head Coach Marty Raymond. "We're happy to have a guy who has played with us before and to give him a chance to gain more experience. The new NHL (National Hockey League) gives players like Reagan a chance to move up."
"I'm really excited to be coming back to Bakersfield," said Leslie. "I'm looking forward to having a consistent year."
Also joining the Condors lineup for the upcoming season is 26-year-old goaltender Jamie Hodson. Last season Jamie played with the Roanoke Valley Vipers for his only stint in the United Hockey League. Prior to the 2005-06 season, the Lenore, Manitoba native spent most of four seaons in the ECHL and part of three in the American Hockey League. In four years in the ECHL, including one season with Condors rival the Fresno Falcons, Hodson compiled a win-loss record of 64-34-7 in 112 games.
"We needed an experienced goaltender and we believe we truly found one in Jamie. He can be an asset in Bakersfield for years to come since he's only 26-years-old," said Raymond. "He also fits our team concept since he is a great team player with a great work ethic."
Leslie and Hodson have actually played together before, with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League in 2000-01.
I was happy to her Jamie signed with Bakersfield. I only played with him for one year, my rookie season. Jamie's a great goalie with a great resume. He'll be one of the better goalies in the league."
Leslie and Hodson become the seventh and eighth players on the Condors 2006-07 roster. They join Kevin St. Jacques, Mike Hofstrand, David Kudelka, Josh Liebenow, Kevin Truelson and Sean Venedam for the 2006-07 season.
