July 12, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx announced that they have agreed to terms with team captain Ryan Lang for the 2006-07 Season.
Lang, 25, became captain of the team in just his second season as a pro and first with Augusta. He appeared in 69 games for the Lynx, scoring 18 times and totaling 47 points with 57 minutes in penalties. The 5-10, 175 lb. centerman also saw action with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates last year, appearing in one game with no points or penalty minutes. The Regina, Saskatchewan native has appeared in 139 pro games, scoring 31 goals and 78 points between the ECHL and AHL.
"Ryan was our most consistent player from start to finish last season," said Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations Bob Ferguson. "He provided excellent leadership in his role as team captain last season, while also providing us with solid play at center."
Lang is the first player slated to return to Augusta for next season, with more players to be announced in the near future.
