Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, today announced their home, Rabobank Arena, has been selected as the 4th-best minor league sports venue in North America in an annual poll on MinorLeagueNews.com.

Rabobank Arena, which pulled in at 7th last season, was arenaselected in a poll which ranked minor league ballparks and arenas, as well as other categories such as concession items, promotional giveaways and special features. ECHL venues filled seven of the Top 10 positions in the poll, which featured the highest vote total in its history. Having opened in 1998 in conjunction with the Condors inaugural season, Rabobank Arena is the oldest facility ranked in the Top 5.

"We're excited to be on the list; it's a great honor," said Rabobank Arena General Manager Steve Womack. "We want to thank everyone for their continued support of the arena. Obviously I'm biased, but I think this is a great arena and we're very proud of it."

"We're extremely fortunate to play in such an outstanding facility," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "It's the perfect venue for our fans, with its comfort, amenities and size, and it's truly been a home-ice advantage for the team for years. Of course our biggest asset is our fans, who continue to support us."

Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, claimed the top spot for the second straight year, while the Stockton Arena, home of the Thunder, was the no. 2 venue in the survey. Third was the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA, home of the Reading Royals, followed by Rabobank Arena. Gwinnett Arena (Gladiators), Germain Arena (Florida Everblades), AutoZone Park in Memphis, TNDell Diamond in Round Rock, TX., Cambria County War Memorial (Johnstown Chiefs) and Sullivan Arena (Alaska Aces) rounded out the Top 10.
