BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have already begun the countdown to the drop of the puck for 2011-12, announcing dates for a preseason showdown with their Central Valley Rivals, the Stockton Thunder. The Condors will travel to Stockton Friday, Oct. 7 and host the Thunder on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Rabobank Arena.

Details regarding the 2011-12 regular season docket will be released in the coming weeks. Full and weekender season ticket packages, as well as The Half Plan - a new ticket plan that features approximately half of the Condors 36 home games - include the preseason game, while individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

"We're well into preparations for the 2011-12 season," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "While there is plenty of work to do to get ready for October, it's exciting to put October 8th on the schedule as the first home game."

The Condors and Thunder are coming off a season that saw the two clubs both finish with 86 points in the Pacific Division standings, with the Condors winning the tie breaker and earning their second straight division title. Meanwhile they had a spirited regular season series that saw the home team win all but one of the 11 meetings, and the Condors come away with a 7-4-0 record.
