
Community Celebration at Pier 62 Tonight at 5:00 PM PT

SEATTLE, WASH. - Tonight, June 16, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. PT, SEA 2026 invites the community to Pier 62 and the Seattle waterfront to celebrate the Emerald City's selection as an official FIFA World Cup 2026™ host city, as announced by FIFA this afternoon.
Pier 62 is the inaugural site of Seattle's future Waterfront Park, which will span 20 acres along the city's downtown shoreline as a constellation of lush, open public spaces linked together by a pedestrian-oriented promenade. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025, in time to serve as a central piece of Seattle's FIFA World Cup 2026™ home.
Capacity on Pier 62 is limited and fans wishing to attend the event are strongly encouraged to arrive early and utilize public transportation if possible.
For this evening's celebration, Pier 62 opens to fans at 4:30 p.m. PT, with the first 300 in attendance to receive a limited-edition SEA 2026 scarf. A variety of family-friendly games and activities are available for fans to enjoy, with food trucks and a beer garden for refreshments, in addition to the wide variety of establishments located along the waterfront.
Local bakery Midnight Cookie Co. is providing free cookies to event attendees while supplies last, and featured food trucks on site have open tabs for fans until the trucks sell out. The four food trucks are all BIPOC-owned and include: Monster Dogs, Seoul Bowl, Thai-U-Up and VeGo Eatz.
RAVE Foundation is also onsite this evening to host soccer skills for youth in attendance, with each child who participates receiving a free soccer ball.
The evening's celebration is designed to bring together the community to revel in the momentous occasion together and to recognize the SEA 2026 World Cup vision that is inclusive, sustainable and celebrates Seattle's rich soccer history.
On-stage programming from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. PT includes brief remarks from local and state leaders such as Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, King County Executive Dow Constantine, City of Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, SEA 2026 Chair & Sounders FC Majority Owner Adrian Hanauer and Sounders FC Chief Operating Officer / General Counsel Maya Mendoza-Exstrom.
The band flor is scheduled to perform a free concert for fans from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m. PT. The Hood River, Oregon-based quartet - Zach Grace (vocals, guitar), Dylan Bauld (bass), McKinley Kitts (guitar) and Kyle Hill (drums) - recently released their third full-length album Future Shine and are known for unshakable melodies from jubilant synths, buoyant beats and lush guitars. 5:00 p.m. PT - Celebration program begins
