Communities of Black Mountain and Kelowna Rockets Launch Partnership

The Communities of Black Mountain is the newly formed working partnership between two leading stakeholders in the Black Mountain district of Rutland in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Prospect at Black Mountain and Black Mountain Development and Golf Course owned by Melcor Developments Ltd. and have come together to promote the lifestyle advantages and to enhance the sense of district in the upper bench of Black Mountain.

"Together we share a similar vision for the area and felt that our combined resources would expedite the awareness of what so many residents already claim as their community. The area is poised for sustained growth and few areas offer the lifestyle advantages of Black Mountain" says Brad Pelletier the VP of Melcor for the Kelowna region.

Black Mountain has organically developed into a district of its' own and the launch of Communities of Black Mountain is to promote the area as a whole and it's unique lifestyle advantages such as the proximity to Big White Ski Resort, Black Mountain Golf Course, and walking trails. The Communities of Black Mountain is the closest development to Big White and is strategically located close to airport, sports, dining, UBCO and shopping within Rutland.

"The goal of our partnership is to be active civically and to continue to reinforce why residents are so passionate about the area". It is unique for two competing developers to come together but we feel it is simply a matter of packaging what is already happening in the district" says Kathleen Mackenzie of Prospect at Black Mountain. The Communities of Black Mountain have identified the Kelowna Rockets as a powerful vehicle to drive awareness and equity in the newly established partnership.

"The Kelowna Rockets are clearly a dominant lifestyle brand in the Okanagan and we feel it is strategic to our initiative to invest in the lifestyle choices of our residents and consumers" stated Dave Coombs of Prospect at Black Mountain
