Comets Sign Forward Lukas Jasek to Amateur Tryout Contract

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today that the club signed forward Lukas Jasek to an amateur tryout contract.

Jasek (JAH-shick) has played a majority of the season in the Czech Elite League with the Bili Tygri Liberec. The forward has tallied 18 points (8-10-18) and 28 penalty minutes in 48 games. In addition, the Trinec, Czech Republic native collected seven points (2-5-7) in 12 games of the Championship Hockey League, a tournament that feature the best teams of European hockey. His seven points were tied for second most on the team as Bili Tygri Liberec advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Over the past four seasons, Jasek has competed in 116 games in the Czech Elite League amassing 23 points (10-13-23) and 52 penalty minutes.

The 20-year-old was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the sixth round, 174th overall, at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
