Comets Release Forward Joel Lowry

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today that the club has released forward Joel Lowry from his professional tryout contract.

Lowry, 26, dressed in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Toronto Marlies. The forward has appeared in 26 ECHL games this season with the Manchester Monarchs collecting a team-high 29 points (13-16-29) and 17 penalty minutes. The Calgary, Alberta native skated in 40 games with the Ontario Reign last season posting eight points (1-7-8) and 64 penalty minutes.

Lowry was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round, 140th overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
