News and Notes
After going 42 games without a third-period comeback win, the Heat have won three of their last nine games with third period comebacks and are now 3-11-1-2 on the season when trailing after two periods
February 10 @ Grand Rapids saw the Heat score with 2:03 remaining in the third period to force overtime and eventually capture the win in the shootout 3-2
February 16 vs. San Jose saw the Heat score three goals in the third period to force overtime where Hunter Shinkaruk won the game for the Heat with the OT winner
March 4 vs. San Diego saw the Heat tie the game just before the midway mark of the third period to force overtime, where the Heat's Hunter Shinkaruk would win the game in the shootout
Andrew Mangiapane is tied for 14th in the AHL with 46 points despite having played just 38 games in the AHL
Mangiapane also became the first Heat player to record back-to-back seasons with 20 or more goals. He is the first Flames AHL player since Carsen Germyn of the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights to record back-to-back 20+ goal seasons (Germyn had 24 goals in 2005-06 and 28 goals in 2006-07)
Spencer Foo has a career long six-game point streak dating back to February 17 (4-4-8)
Foo is tied for 17th among AHL rookies with 32 points
Rasmus Andersson is tied for fifth among AHL defensemen with 35 points
Tyler Wotherspoon is not far behind his defensive partner with 32 points, putting him eighth among AHL defenders
Oliver Kylington also ranks in the Top-20 as he's tied for 16th among AHL defensemen with 27 points
After beginning the season losing their first five games in overtime (three in shootout, two in overtime), the Heat have won three-straight overtime games since February 10 (two in shootout, one in overtime)
The Heat have been to overtime just 8 times this season, the third fewest in the American Hockey League
The Heat still lead the league having scored first in 68.6% of their 51 games played this season
The Heat's 10 power-play chances on Saturday against the Condors were the most the Heat have ever had in a single game all-time
Stockton completes the season series with San Diego going 5-2-0-1 and are now 18-9-0-3 all-time against the Gulls
