Comeback Cats walk off with a win

June 2, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release

The Ottawa offence got going right from the first batter. Chris Roberson led off with a single to centre and moved to second on Jason Jaramillo's walk before scoring on Jim Rushford's RBI single. The Braves battled back, scoring three runs in the top of the third and another in the top of the fourth, leaving the Lynx in a 4-1 deficit. But the Cats came back the very next inning. Starting pitcher Bubba Nelson got the rally going with a double, moving to third base on Chris Roberson's double. Joe Thurston cut the lead to one run, cashing Nelson and Roberson with his 2-RBI single. Gary Burnham would know the score at 4-4 by driving in Thurston, setting the stage for Thurston's 9th-inning heroics. With none on and one out, Thurston slammed his first home run of the season over the rightfield fence to win the game for the Lynx.
