Comeback Carp Fall Just Short of 7th Straight

Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - The Comeback Carp fell just shy of an epic victory Sunday afternoon at ABC Supply Stadium.
After rallying for three runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the South Bend Cubs at 6-6, the Sky Carp fell 8-6 in 10 innings.
The loss snapped the team's six-game winning streak and dropped them to 7-1 at ABC Supply Stadium on the season.
Things looked bleak after South Bend tallied six runs in the second inning. But the Sky Carp, as they've done all season, fought back.
The home team scored a run in the fourth and two in the sixth to get within striking distance.
In the ninth, Josh Zamora delivered an RBI single to make it 6-4. Then, with two outs, Jorge Caballero crushed a double to right field, scoring a pair of runs to tie the game.
The Beloit bullpen was fantastic, surrendering just one earned run in seven innings of work. Dale Stanavich (1-2) took the loss.
The Sky Carp will head to Cedar Rapids for a seven-game series beginning Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. The team will return home on Tuesday, April 30 for a 1:05 p.m. game against Quad Cities, kicking off a six-game homestand.
