Columbus Recalls Center Derek MacKenzie And Right Wing Maksim Mayorov

Syracuse, NY (March 9, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Derek MacKenzie and right wing Maksim Mayorov.

MacKenzie, 28, has appeared in 47 games with the Crunch this season and leads the team in scoring with 47 points (17g, 30a). In addition, he is tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals (5) and leads the AHL in shorthanded points (7). MacKenzie has also skated in 17 games with Columbus this season, notching one goal and three assists.

MacKenzie has appeared in 550 combined AHL games with the Crunch and Chicago, tallying 147 goals and 185 assists. A native of Sudbury, Onatrio, he was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 7, 2007.

Mayorov, 20, has appeared in 61 games with the Crunch this season, recording 23 points (11g, 12a). He has skated in 132 games with Syracuse over the past two seasons, totaling 28 goals, 26 assists and 48 penalty minutes. In addition, Mayorov appeared in three games with Columbus last season. A native of Andizhan, Russia, Mayorov was selected by Columbus in the fourth round, 94th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
